CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. – First-year
Nate Hanley of the Union College men's hockey team was named the ECAC Hockey Co-Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Hanley continued to impress in his rookie campaign with another multi-point effort in Union's win against Yale. The Rocky Point, N.Y native scored the eventual game winner at 2:52 of the third period before adding the primary assist on sophomore
Josh Nixon's goal later in the frame.
The first-year forward leads the team in points (21), assists (16) and shots (70) and has played in every game this season.
This marks the first rookie of the week honor for Hanley who was previously recognized as the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Month in October.
Hanley is the fourth member of the first-year class to earn Rookie of the Week accolades, joining classmates
Cal Mell,
John Prokop, and
Nick Young who were all honored in October.
Union is back in action this weekend for the final road weekend of the regular season at #9 Harvard University. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Bright-Landry Hockey Center.
