Pearl Named to United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – After an excellent season leading the Union College women's soccer team's defensive unit, junior Anne Pearl was recognized with a spot on the United Soccer Coaches All-Region III fourth-team, the Association announced last week.

Pearl is the 34th All-Region selection in Union women's soccer history and the first since Whitney Bickford '15 earned All-East Region second-team honors in 2014.

Pearl adds the award to her first career All-Liberty League honor this season after starting all 19 matches in 2024 and playing a key role on the defensive unit. As a team, Union allowed almost half-a-goal per game, conceding only 10 goals and allowing more than one goal in only two of the team's 19 matches. Pearl also recorded a career-high three points on the season, scoring an insurance goal in a win at Smith College and assisting on the game-winner against Russell Sage College.

The junior has started 45 of her 46 appearances on defense in her first three seasons with the program, while chipping in three goals and an assist.

As a team, Union posted a 9-5-5 record in 2024, tied for the most wins in a season for the program in the last 10 years.
