SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College women's crew team faced gorgeous weather for their senior day race against Vassar College on Saturday morning on the Mohawk River.
The team enjoyed one final race at home with flat water and a slight tailwind from the southeast in the 1900-meter course.
Union won two of the three races against the Brewers. The 2
nd Varsity 8+ team won in 6:58, six seconds ahead of Vassar. Union's boat consisted of sophomore

The Frosh/Novice 4+ boat won by 27 seconds over Vassar with a time of 7:47. Union's winning boat was made up of sophomore
Melina McGovern (coxswain), Hannan (stroke), Werkema (3 seat), Harrow (2 seat), and first-year
Mariah Jackson.
The Varsity 8+ placed second, but made large improvements from the last time the Brewers and Garnet Chargers Raced. Union finished the race in 6:53, 21 seconds back from Vassar. Union's boat was made up of senior
