SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Head coach
Josh Sciba announced the 2024-25 schedule for the Union College women's hockey team on Thursday afternoon.
"With the 2024-2025 season being the final one played in Messa Rink, we're excited to create some lasting memories this year," said Sciba. "Our highly competitive non-conference slate will prepare us for a challenging league schedule where we will face nationally ranked opponents every weekend. Every game matters and we believe that this schedule will help our group prepare for post-season play."
Union's schedule is comprised of seven non-conference opponents and the 11 members of ECAC Hockey.
The Garnet Chargers open the 2024-25 campaign on the road with two games at Robert Morris. It will be the first trip to Pittsburgh to face the Colonials since 2019.
Union returns home the following weekend to kick off a four-game homestand beginning with the home opener against RIT on Oct. 4. The Garnet Chargers host Penn State, who finished last season ranked 13
th in the USCHO.com national poll, on Oct. 11-12.
Union heads east to Durham for a two-game series against New Hampshire beginning on Oct. 18.
The Garnet Chargers head to Burlington, Vt. for a solo game against Vermont on Nov. 20 before welcoming St. Cloud State to Schenectady for the first time in program history on Thanksgiving weekend. The Huskies finished the 2023-24 campaign ranked 11
th in the USCHO.com national poll.
Union closes out the non-conference slate on Jan. 25 with the annual Mayor's Cup game against Rensselaer at MVP Arena.
Seven of Union's ECAC Hockey opponents finished nationally-ranked in the USCHO.com poll.
The Garnet Chargers open ECAC Hockey play at home on Oct. 25 against Harvard.
Union plays five conference games on the road in November starting with Cornell on Nov. 1. The Garnet Chargers head to the North Country to face Clarkson and St. Lawrence on Nov. 8-9 before a weekend off for final exams. Union faces Capital District rival Rensselaer for the first time in the 2024-25 season on Nov. 26 at Houston Field House.
The garnet and white open the 2025 calendar year with four straight home games against ECAC Hockey foes. Quinnipiac and Princeton visit Schenectady starting with a Jan. 3 meeting with the Bobcats.
St, Lawrence and Clarkson are in town the following weekend to close out the homestand. Union hits the road for the first time in 2025 with a trip to Dartmouth and Harvard from Jan. 17-18.
Union hosts the Engineers on Jan. 24 for the second match-up between the rivals this season.
The Garnet Chargers head to Brown to close out January and open the final month of the regular season at Yale on Feb 1.
The last home series of the regular season sees Colgate and Cornell visit Messa Rink on Feb. 7-8 for Senior Weekend. Union heads to Princeton and Quinnipiac on Feb. 14-15 to conclude the conference slate before turning their attention to the ECAC Hockey Tournament.
