TROY, N.Y. – Three Union College student-athletes received weekly honors from the Liberty League and seven more were recognized with honor roll selections for the week ending on October 26, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week: Rowan Dapson
Dapson helped Union to a huge 2-1 (OT) win over #25 Rochester on Saturday with a goal and an assist, moving the Garnet Chargers into a tie for first place in the conference. The sophomore evened the score in the 40th minute with an unassisted tally, then beat a defender on a corner insert to take a shot that was deflected home for the game-winner in overtime.
Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week: Jacob Perry
Perry did not allow a goal in two matches last week, making five total saves to help Union clinch a postseason berth. The senior stopped all four shots he faced to keep Union ahead in a 1-0 win over Bard on Wednesday, then had one stop on Saturday as the Garnet Chargers earned a crucial conference point with a scoreless draw against #11 Hobart.
Football Special Teams Player of the Week: Francesco Pileggi
Pileggi kicked the game-winning field goal with three seconds left in regulation to lead Union to a 19-14 victory over Ithaca on Saturday, helping the Garnet Chargers stay in a tie for first place in the conference standings. The sophomore also hit both of his PATs in the win, including one from 35 yards out after a Union penalty.

Football: Jordan Black
Black had seven tackles, including two tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks, to lead a strong team defensive effort in Saturday's 19-14 win at Ithaca that kept the Garnet Chargers in first place in the Liberty League standings.
Football: Patch Flanagan
Flanagan threw for 260 yards and a touchdown while also running for 50 yards in Union's 19-14 win over Ithaca on Saturday that kept the Garnet Chargers atop the Liberty League standings. He rushed for 22 yards and had a crucial 32-yard completion on Union's final possession, an eight-play, 60-yard drive that set up the game-winning field goal with three seconds remaining. The senior is averaging a conference-best 294 yards of total offense per game so far this season.
Men's Rowing: Varsity 8+ Boat
Union's A boat in the Men's Club Championship 8+ event posted the top finish of the day for the Garnet Chargers at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa., placing second among 11 Division III boats in the race and 24th out of 45 entries overall with a time of 12:43.49. Sophomore

Men's Soccer: Lucas Montalto
Montalto scored the only goal of the match in the 15th minute to lead Union to a 1-0 win over Bard on Wednesday, and also helped reinforce the defensive unit that posted back-to-back shutouts of Bard and #11 Hobart to help clinch a postseason berth.
Women's Volleyball: Shannon McGrath
McGrath put down 28 kills (4.67 kps) on .229 hitting to go with 21 digs (3.5 dps) and four aces as Union swept two matches in the North Country over the weekend to clinch a top-three spot in the Liberty League standings. The senior just missed a double-double on Friday at St. Lawrence with 11 kills and nine digs in a 3-0 victory, then came back the next day with 17 kills, 12 digs and three aces to lead the Garnet Chargers to their first win over Clarkson since 2016 and first win in Potsdam since 2011.
Women's Volleyball: Shea Ringel
Ringer had 20 kills (3.33 kps) on .246 hitting with 12 digs to help Union sweep two matches in the North Country over the weekend.. The first-year put down eight kills with three digs in a 3-0 victory over St. Lawrence on Friday, then just missed a double-double the next day with 12 kills and nine digs and three aces against the Golden Knights.
