Four From Women's Soccer Earn All-Conference Honors

TROY, N.Y. – Four members of the Union College women's soccer team were recognized for their excellence on the field this season with spots on the All-Liberty League Teams, the conference office announced on Tuesday. Senior Anne Pearl was named to the first team and classmate Anabelle Thomas earned a second-team nod, while senior Vanessa Jorgensen and junior Taylor Bovardi both picked up spots on the third team.

Pearl and Bovardi earn All-Conference honors for the second straight season, while Thomas and Jorgensen both end their careers with their first All-Conference selection. The four Union players are the most selected for All-League recognition since 2019.

Pearl was recognized as one of the top-four backs in the Liberty League with her first-team honor, moving up from third-team laurels a year ago and making her the program's first first-team selection since 2014. The senior captain started all 19 matches for the second straight season as the leader of a defensive unit that conceded only 14 goals in 19 contests, including nine shutouts and 15 matches of one goal or fewer. Pearl also took a career high 23 shots as a contributor on the other end of the field, scoring the game-winning goal against St. Lawrence University to clinch a postseason berth and adding two assists for a career-high four points. In 65 career matches (64 starts) in garnet, Pearl scored four goals with three assists for 11 points.

Thomas had an excellent season at forward for Union in 2025, scoring a team-leading seven goals with three assists for a team-best 17 points. She finished the season tied for seventh in the Liberty League in goals and sixth in points, registering the most points in a season by a Union player since 2019 and tied for the most goals in a season since 2016. The senior was named Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week on September 22 after a two-goal, one-assist performance on Senior Day against SUNY Oneonta. In 54 matches (23 starts) over three years at Union, Thomas scored 10 goals with four assists for 24 points.

Jorgensen had a breakout senior season for the Garnet Chargers this season, more than doubling her career scoring output with six goals and three assists for 15 points in 19 matches. The senior captain finished the year tied for ninth in the conference in both goals and points, and led the squad by recording at least one point in a team-best eight matches from the midfield. She recorded a career-best three points in a 3-1 win over Rochester Institute of Technology in October, scoring the first goal of the match and assisting on the eventual game-winner. She played in 65 games with 38 starts in her four seasons with the team, finishing with 11 goals and six assists for 28 points.

Bovardi earns All-Conference third-team honors for the second straight season after setting new career-highs with seven assists and 13 points to go with three goals. The junior forward ranked second in the Liberty League with her seven helpers, which are tied for the most by a Union player since 2010. She had a trio of three-point games on the year for the Garnet Chargers, including scoring the game-winning goals in victories over Eastern Connecticut State University and RIT. The team's active leader in career points, Bovardi will return for her senior season with nine goals and 11 assists for 29 points already under her belt.

With their All-Conference quartet leading the way, Union reached the Liberty League Tournament for the first time since 2021 and reached the nine-win plateau for the third time in five seasons under head coach Karen Perron.
