SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Senior co-captain
Anne Pearl finished her stellar career with the Union College women's soccer team by receiving All-Region honors from United Soccer Coaches for the second straight season, earning a spot on the All-Region III second team.
Pearl is the 12th player in program history to earn multiple All-Region honors in a career and the first since Jennifer Mansfield '13 earned her second straight honor in 2012. She is only the second Union women's soccer defender to earn two All-Region laurels in a career, joining Sara Wilson '09 in 2006-07.
The honor comes after Pearl was selected as one of the top-four backs in the Liberty League with All-Conference first-team recognition this year. The senior captain started all 19 matches for the second straight season as the leader of a defensive unit that conceded only 14 goals in 19 contests, including nine shutouts and 15 matches of one goal or fewer. Pearl also took a career high 23 shots and scored the game-winning goal against St. Lawrence University that clinched a postseason berth, while also chipping in two assists for a career-high four points.
Pearl started 64 of her 65 career appearances in garnet, scoring four goals with three assists for 11 points in addition to her work on the defensive side of the ball.
With Pearl leading the way, Union reached the Liberty League Tournament for the first time since 2021 and reached the nine-win plateau for the third time in five seasons under head coach
Karen Perron.
