COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Seniors
Sophie Brady and
Megan Dorsey of the Union College field hockey team were recognized alongside many of the country's top players as part of the 2025 NFHCA Division III Senior Team, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced on Thursday.
Brady and Dorsey are two of only 60 senior student-athletes in Division III selected for the exclusive squad, making Union one of 15 teams in Division III to have more than one representative. The Union pair are two of six Liberty League student-athletes to be recognized on the team.
Dorsey had another strong season in the midfield for Union, earning a third straight All-Liberty League first-team honor after scoring six goals with seven assists for 19 points while starting all 21 games. The senior tied for eighth in the Liberty League in points and fourth in assists on the season and finished with at least one point in 11 matches. A two-year team captain and two-time All-Region performer, Dorsey finished her decorated career first all-time at Union with 29 assists and also scored 22 goals for 73 career points, placing her seventh on the school's career points list and 10th in game-winning goals (six).
Brady will graduate as one of the top goaltenders in Union field hockey history after a stellar four-year career for the Garnet Chargers. As a senior, she posted a 7-5 record with a 1.53 goals against average and .741 save percentage and became the school's all-time wins leader in the team's victory over Ithaca in September. In four seasons as a starter, the 2024 All-Region first-teamer amassed a 35-22 record with a 1.73 goals against average and .742 save percentage, finishing her time first in career wins, sixth in goals against average and seventh in saves (273) at Union.
Along with classmate
Kat Bruun, the seniors will leave as the most successful class in program history, as the team's 49 wins over the last four seasons are the most ever for Union field hockey in a four-year span. The team also set new program standards for wins over a two-year span (27) and three-year span (38) as well.
