SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Junior Cooper Ames of the Union College baseball team was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week following his performance last weekend at SUNY Purchase.

Ames hit .625 in a doubleheader sweep over SUNY Purchase on Saturday, going 5-for-8 with a double, a home run, five RBIs and two runs scored. 

The junior was also named the Liberty League Performer of the Week on Monday. Both awards are firsts for Ames.

The Union College baseball team returns to action on Saturday with a doubleheader against SUNY Cobleskill. First pitch is set for noon at Honey Field on the campus of Bard College.
