Maya Koster of the women's soccer team was honored as the Liberty League Defensive Player of the Week while six other Union College student-athletes earned honor roll recognition for the week ending on September 14, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week: Maya Koster
Koster helped Union to a pair of shutout victories last week, earning the start in both matches and going a combined 111:24 without conceding a goal. She started the week by making five saves in the first half to keep Western New England off the board in an eventual 3-0 Union win, then added one save in the first 66:24 of action in Saturday's 4-0 victory at Plattsburgh State.
Honor Roll Mentions:
Field Hockey: Tess Parker
Parker kept Union in the game against a pair of nationally ranked opponents last week, combining for 11 saves as the Garnet Chargers took both #10 Wesleyan and #23 MIT to overtime. She made six saves in nearly 69 minutes in a tough 2-1 (OT) loss to the Cardinals on Wednesday, then added five more saves in 62:16 of action in Saturday's 3-2 (OT) defeat to the Engineers.

Savini led Union with nine tackles and also returned an interception 64 yards for a touchdown in Union's matchup against #23 SUNY Cortland on Saturday. She netted the second goal of the match in a 3-0 win over Western New England on Wednesday, and then opened the scoring with the eventual game-winning tally in a 4-0 win victory over Plattsburgh State on Saturday.
