DANBURY, Conn. – First-year goaltender
Emma Rhéaume was tabbed ECAC Hockey #Bitcoin Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday morning.
Rhéaume made her first collegiate start on Saturday afternoon, turning aside all 19 shots to secure both her first collegiate shutout and first career win. The performance helped Union complete a weekend sweep of Franklin Pierce with back-to-back shutouts – a first in program history.
Rhéaume became the first Union first-year goaltender to record a shutout in her debut, and her recognition marks the Garnet Chargers' first ECAC weekly honor of the 2025-26 season.
The Union College women's hockey team continues their stretch of 10 straight home games, with a non-conference weekend series against Hockey East foe Merrimack College on Friday, October 3, at 6:00 pm and Saturday, October 4, at 1:00 pm.
