Miller and Swarts Rack Up All-Region Honors

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Senior Caleb Miller and sophomore Dylan Swarts were honored by D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association on All-Region teams, announced by the organizations on Tuesday.

Miller earned ABCA/Rawlings All-Region III first-team honors as a catcher, and Swarts appeared on the ABCA's third team. Both Garnet Chargers earned spots on D3baseball's second team in Region III as well. While Swarts earned the first regional recognition of his career, Miller joined exclusive company as only the second Union baseball player to be a two-time ABCA first teamer, along with Jake Fishman '18. Fishman was an All-Region first-team pitcher in 2016 and an All-Region first-team utility player in 2014 and 2016.

Miller and Swarts represented two of the Liberty League's 15 ABCA All-Region honorees and two of 11 from the Liberty League to earn spots on D3baseball regional squads. RIT and Hobart led the way with three ABCA All-Region players, while Vassar produced the most D3baseball All-Region winners (3). Miller was one of three Liberty League players to earn at least one first-team nod with Ethan Fantel (Ithaca) and Michael Lebenson (RPI) appearing on both organization's first teams.

Miller completed his storied Union career by tallying his third straight All-Liberty League first-team honor. He became the Garnet Chargers' program leader in hits (181), runs (138), RBIs (122), total bases (302), and at-bats (527), reaching all five marks in 2026 as he slashed .368/.446/.573. He notched his record-breaking hit and RBI on the same swing on April 29 against VTSU Castleton. Miller finished his All-Conference and All-Region season on a 12-game hitting streak, had 15 multi-hit games, six three-hit games, and a pair of four-hit performances while also recording at least one RBI and/or at least one run in 29 of Union's 37 games. He also threw out the most runners in the Liberty League, erasing 20 would-be base stealers.

Swarts adds his All-Region second- and third-team honors to a pair of Liberty League awards after being named to the conference's second team as a sophomore. The Chester, N.J. native led Union in home runs (6), runs scored (41), RBIs (36), total bases (90), and slugging percentage (.581) while batting .342 in 37 games, starting every one at shortstop. He also posted a 2.19 ERA in seven relief appearances, striking out 13 in 12.1 innings with a 2-1 record and a save. He posted 17 multi-hit games and had a single-game season-high five hits against Bard on April 18 with four RBIs and one run scored. Swarts went 16 games and 59 chances to begin the season without making an error and was a part of 13 double plays. Swarts also hit 17 doubles, marking the second-most in a single season in program history.
