SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Union College men's hockey head coach Josh Hauge has announced the 10 newcomers who will be joining the Garnet Chargers for the 2026-27 season. The class features seven first-years and three transfers. The class of seven first-year players is tied for the most rookies Hauge and his staff have brought in after also having seven in 2024-25. Representing five states and one Canadian province, the new crop of Garnet Chargers includes three defensemen and seven forwards. Hauge's team will also feature siblings for the second season in a row.

Before Union: Spent his first two seasons of college hockey at Northeastern University (Hockey East) … appeared in 31 games during his rookie season … tallied his first collegiate point with an assist in his debut game against Stonehill (10/12/24) … finished first season with 23 blocked shots … appeared in 35 games in 2025-26 …recorded six points with one goal and five assists … tallied an assist on the Huskies opening goal in a 4-2 upset over #11 UMass (10/17/25) … scored his first collegiate goal with the game winner against UMass Lowell (2/20/26) … blocked 28 shots ... played for the Madison Capitols during the 2023-24 season ... tallied 24 points on six goals and 18 assists in 40 games ... skated with the Cranbrook Bucks in 2022-23 ... recorded five goals and 12 assists for 17 points in 44 regular season games ... spent two seasons with Bishop Kearney Selects from 2020-22, totaling 24 goals and 72 assists ... attended USA Hockey's National Camp in 2019-20 and 2021-22.

Before Union: Appeared in 17 games as a first-year for the University of Alaska Fairbanks (Independent) … amassed 15 points on four goals and 11 assists … made collegiate debut on Oct. 4 against Minnesota Duluth … recorded first collegiate points with a pair of assists against Lindenwood (1/23) … scored first collegiate goal the next night, also against Lindenwood … posted a seven-game point streak, totaling four goals and six assists from Jan. 23 - Feb. 20 … tallied a four-assist game against Alaska Anchorage (2/28) ... debuted for the Madison Capitols (USHL) in 2022-23 … played 94 games across two stints with the Bismarck Bobcats (NAHL), totaling 113 points … registered 21 goals and 28 assists (59 points) for Bismarck in 2023-24 … also spent time with the Waterloo Black Hawks in the USHL (2023-24), Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL (2024-25), and the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the BCHL.

Before Union: Played two seasons and 103 games in the USHL with the Green Bay Gamblers ... scored 51 points (24g, 27a) as the captain for the Gamblers in 2025-26 ... was 24th in goals and 31st in points across the USHL in 2025-26 ... debuted in the NAHL for the Wisconsin Windigo in 2023-24, scoring 24 points in 52 games ... was the captain of the Windigo in 2024-25 and had 41 points (9g, 32a) before being called up to Green Bay.
 
From Coach Hauge: "Elliot is a player we think has a lot of upside. He's competitive, has good offensive instincts and brings another element to our forward group. He led the USHL with a plus-41 last season, which shows he can be counted on in all areas of the game and that he understands how to impact winning."

Before Union: Played four seasons and 277 games of junior hockey, culminating with 56 points (31g, 25a) for the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL in 2025-26 ... debuted for the Brooks Bandits (AJHL) in 2022-23 and scored 195 points (86g, 109a) over three seasons with the Bandits in the AJHL and BCHL ... scored 12 points in 21 playoff games as Brooks won the BCHL for the second year in a row in 2024-25.

He's played a lot of hockey at a high level, and we think that experience will help him transition into college hockey. He's a player who can impact the game in a number of different ways but will be a fan favorite with his offense."

Before Union: Played three seasons (135 games) with the Sioux City Musketeers (USHL) … scored a career-best 34 points (11g, 23a) during the regular season while serving as an alternate captain in 2024-25 … finished juniors career with 77 points (32g, 24a).

Before Union: Played two seasons (127 games) for the Sioux City Musketeers (USHL) … led the Musketeers with 61 points (21g, 40a) during the regular season in 2025-26 … his 61 points were the 12th-most in the USHL and his 40 assists were the fifth-most … finished juniors career with 33 goals and 57 assists (90 points).
 
From Coach Hauge: "Luke brings a high-end skill set and hockey IQ to our forward group. He has the ability to see plays develop before they happen, create offense and make the players around him better. We're excited about the impact he can have in our program."

Before Union: Began juniors career with the Lincoln Stars (USHL) in 2024-25, scoring 20 goals with 11 assists in 59 regular-season games … had a pair of goals and assists in seven postseason games that season … scored twice in six games with Lincoln in 2025-26 before finishing his season with the Omaha Lancers … produced 15 goals and 15 assists with the Lancers.
 
From Coach Hauge: "Lefty has one thing you can't teach—he knows how to score. He has a knack for finding the back of the net, he has a good release and he can really skate. We think he can bring some offensive energy to our lineup."

Before Union: Played three seasons (185 games) with the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL), serving as a captain in 2024-25 and 2025-26 … tallied 25 assists as a defenseman … recorded a career-best 12 points in 2023-24 with one goal and 11 assists.
 
From Coach Hauge: "Brady is the type of defenseman you want on your team. He's big, competitive and willing to do the hard work necessary to defend. We think he can give us a physical presence on the back end and continue to develop into a really dependable college defenseman."

Before Union: Attended the University of Minnesota as a first-year and sophomore … appeared in 42 games over his first two collegiate seasons, recording two goals and four assists for six points … played in 20 games as a sophomore despite battling multiple extended injuries, earning Academic All-Big Ten honors ... recorded an assist at No. 8 North Dakota (10/17) … skated in 22 games as a first-year in 2024-25, totaling five points on two goals and three assists … made his collegiate debut in the championship game of the Ice Breaker Tournament, recording his first NCAA point with an assist against Omaha (10/12) … scored his first collegiate goal, the game-winner, against St. Thomas (10/25) before adding a goal against Michigan (12/6) ... played three seasons for Tri-City of the USHL … appeared in 136 career games with the Storm, recording 57 points on 32 goals and 25 assists … posted his best season in 2023-24, setting career highs in goals (16), assists (16), and points (32) while adding six game-winning goals, six power-play goals, and one shorthanded goal in 46 games … recorded 12 multi-point performances during the 2023-24 campaign, including a three-point outing against Omaha (4/12) … added eight points on two goals and six assists in six playoff games, helping Tri-City reach the USHL Conference Semifinals … scored 14 goals with nine assists for 23 points in 51 games during the 2022-23 season … appeared in 38 games during his first season with the Storm in 2021-22, recording two goals, including goals in back-to-back games during the final week of the regular season … made one appearance with Tri-City during the 2020-21 season.

Before Union: Played three seasons in the BCHL for the Sherwood Park Crusaders ... scored 70 points, including a season-high 10 goals in 2024-25 and season-highs in assists (23) and points (32) in 2025-26 ... began juniors career with Camrose Kodiaks in the AJHL and scored 31 points in 93 games ... traded from Camrose to Sherwood Park during the 2023-24 season and scored 13 points in 28 games after joining the Crusaders.
