SCOTIA, N.Y. – The Union College women's rowing team got its 2026-27 season underway on a rainy Saturday on the Mohawk River, taking part in the Mohawk Fall Classic.
Union got the day started with the Collegiate 2x Final, with first-years
Caroline Kruggel (stroke) and
Natalie Dinneen (bow) finishing in 16:55.06 to place third in the four-team field.
The Garnet Chargers had a strong effort in the Collegiate 4+ Final, earning sixth place out of 14 boats. Dinneen served as the coxswain for the boat, which featured first-years
Caroline Burkott (stroke),
Doriana Tirch (three seat),
Emilia Cernatescu (two seat) and
Ally Deng (bow).
Union took 11th in 15:41.80 in the Collegiate 8+ Final, with junior
Elizabeth Canaveral coxing the octet of Dinneen (stroke), Tirch (seven seat), Kruggel (six seat), Burkott (five seat), Cernatescu (four seat); sophomores
Leah Scopteuolo-Rosen (three seat) and
Siena Damigella (two seat), and Deng (bow).
Union will finish its abbreviated fall schedule on October 24 at the Head of the Fish Regatta in Saratoga Springs.
