White's single sparks Union's sweep, 3-2 and 7-3

FT. MYERS, FLFreshman Colleen White drove in the winning run with a single with two out in the last of the eighth to give Union a 3-2 softball victory Plymouth State in the first game of the Dutchwomen's spring trip doubleheader.

In the nitecap, pitcher Julie Coffey raised her record to 2-0 with an 11-strikeout performance to lead the Garnet over MIT, 7-3. Union is now 4-0.

Sophomore Julie Gawronski tied the game for the Dutchwomen in the last of the sixth with her first home run of the season. The Panthers had gotten two runs off of Arceneaux in the opening inning but were unable to add to their total against Union's sophomore right-hander. Arceneaux finished the game with eight strike outs to improve to 2-0.

Sophomore Erika Eisenhut stroked three singles in four at bats and Arceneaux scored pair of runs after stroking two singles for Union. Katie Ratner also had two hits for the Dutchwomen.
