CLINTON, N.Y. - Paul Kibbe pitched Hamilton College's first shutout in more than six years to lead the Continentals to a 4-0 win against Union College in a non-conference game at Royce Field.

Kibbe (5-2) also tied the program's record for most wins in a season with five. The record is also held by James Harrison and Joe Rowbottom (twice). Hamilton's last shutout was a 1-0 win against St. Lawrence University on April 25, 1998. Kibbe allowed just four hits, walked one and struck out eight in his fourth complete game this year.

Adam Chadwick had two hits, including a triple, for Union (12-14 overall). Kyle Murphy and Adam Chused added doubles. John Gallagher started and took the loss after four innings of work. Gallagher allowed an earned run on three hits.

Rob Bessette drove in all four of the Continentals' runs. Bessette hit his third home run of the season (a solo shot to right field) in the seventh inning. He plated two runs with a bases-loaded single in the eighth and scored Pat McGarry with a ground out to first base in the fourth inning. McGarry finished with two hits, including his sixth double.
