Utica uses the big inning to defeat Union twice, 11-7 & 4-1

UTICA, NYUtica came up with three big innings, two in the first game and one in the second, to come away with an 11-7 and 4-1 sweep over Union in a non-league baseball doubleheader.

In the first game, the Pioneers used a six-run third inning to rally from a 6-0 deficit then plated four runs in the sixth. The nitecap saw Utica score three times in the last of the sixth to improve their record to 6-18.

Union fell to 14-17.

Adam Chadwick had three of Union's eight hits in the opener, including a double, and drove in one run. Dan Mehleisen, Jim Griglun and Jeff Viamari all plated a runner. Ben Brown drove in the Dutchmen's lone run in the second game.
