Bowdoin pulls out 1-0 softball win over Union

Box Score

FT. MYERS, FL -- Bowdoin College scored one run in the sixth inning and it held up in a 1-0 softball triumph over Union Tuesday.

The Dutchwomen got a solid pitching performance from Jackie Coffey (Boston, MA/Boston Latin), as the junior allowed just five hits by the Bears. But Union had two errors in the contest and the lone run was unearned. Coffey struck out two.

Union was originally scheduled to face Lawrence but the schedules in Florida were switched and so the Dutchwomen took on Bowdoin.

Union, now 3-3 on the season, will face Thomas at 9 a.m. and Southern Maine at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
