Union baseball ends Florida trip with loss to Trinity

FT. MYERS, FL -- Trinity College of Connecticut scored three runs in the first and four in the fifth inning en route to a 13-1 victory over Union Friday at Jack Russell Stadium.

The Dutchmen, 2-6, wrapped up their spring trip in Florida. The Bantams improved to 11-1.

Joe Westcott pitched a complete game for the Bantams and held the Dutchmen to five hits on the day. Eric Giavannone (New Hartford/New Hartford) started for Union, while Ben McGuire (Gloversville/Gloversville) and John Moore (Westport, MA/Moses Brown) saw action in relief on the hill for the Dutchmen.

Union returns to action on Wednesday, March 30 at William Paterson. The home opener is slated for April 2 against RIT. The home contest against the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts that was scheduled for March 31 is now slated for April 20.
