ONEONTA STATE SHUTS OUT UNION COLLEGE

    Four Oneonta State pitchers combined to post an 11-0 shutout over Union Wednesday afternoon in non conference baseball action.  The Dutchmen had three hits in the defeat.
    The game was scoreless through the first three innings until Oneonta (6-0-1) scored two runs in its half of the fourth for a 2-0 lead.  The Red Dragons took advantage of a couple of errors by Union that led to one unearned run.
    Oneonta then scored at least one run in each of the next four innings for the final margin of victory.  Chris Salamida had a home run for the hosts.  
    Oneonta starter Ryan Marsh walked a batter and allowed a single in the first inning and then set down 14 in-a-row before a lead-off walk to start the sixth.  He struck out five batters in his six innings of work.
    Roy Eriksen (S. Nyack/Hackley School) took the loss for the Dutchmen.
    Union (2-9) returns to action Friday for a doubleheader at Brandeis at 3:30 p.m.
