ALBANY, NY – Senior men's hockey goaltender Kris Mayotte (Pittsburgh, PA) has been named to the ECAC Hockey League Second Team. It is the first time a Union hockey player has been named to an All-ECAC team since 2002-03 when Mayotte was selected to the all-rookie team and the first time being selected to a first or second team since 1996-97 when Trevor Koenig was named to the first team as a goaltender and Andrew Will earned second team defenseman honors. The all-league teams were named at the ECACHL banquet to kick off the start of the league championship at the Pepsi Arena.

 

Mayotte capped off his career at Union with a stellar senior season. The netminder finished with a 16-15-5 record in 34 starts, a 2.33 save percentage, a .918 save percentage, and five shutouts. He currently leads the nation in minutes played with 2264:46.

 

Mayotte also set career marks for saves with 2,975, minutes played at 6823:30, games played (116), and career goals against average (2.33). He is third all-time in wins with 46, two behind Ron Kinghorn for the all-time record.

 

St. Lawrence's T.J. Trevelyan was a unanimous selection for the Player of the year. Colgate goaltender Mark Dekanich earned the Ken Dryden Award for the goaltender of the year. Quinnipiac's Brian Leitch was named the Rookie of the Year. Dartmouth's Mike Ouellette earned Best Defensive Forward honors. St. Lawrence's Mike Madill was selected as the Best Defensive Defenseman, and Dartmouth's Bob Gaudet was named the Coach of the Year. St. Lawrence earned the Turfer Athletic Trophy.
