Kewin, Scarlett receive Liberty League swim awards

Brian Scarlett was honored after his first dual meet.

SCHENECTADY, NY -- Two members of the Union College men's swimming & diving team received Liberty League honors this week. Junior kevin Kewin (Brockport, NY) was named the Liberty League Co-Swimmer of the Week and freshman Brian Scarlett (Lutherville, MD) received the Co-Rookie of the Week.

Kewin shares his honor with Robo ibler of St. Lawrence and Scarlett joined fellow diver Kevin Canada of RPI.

Kewin helped lead Union to a 143-98 win over Rochester. He won the 200 IM with a time of 2:01.25, over three seconds better then the second place finisher. He also won the 200 back with at time of 1:57.89, and was on the fourth leg of the winning 400 free relay team that was first at 3:19.91.

In Union's win over Rochester, Scarlett won the 100 free at 49.40. He was second in the 200 free at 1:49.02. He also swam the first leg on the 400 free relay team that was first at 3:19.91.

The Dutchmen will host the Liberty League Championships, November 30 and December 1, at the Alumni Gym Pool.
