ONEONTA, NY -- Junior first baseman Megan Kaknis (New Windsor, NY) drilled six hits in seven at bats and hit her third homer of the season as Union split a non-league softball twinbill at SUNY Oneonta Thursday. The Dutchwomen won the opener 5-2 but fell in the finale, 11-6, and now stand 17-4 for the season.

In the opener, Kaknis had three hits while Bridget Graham (Orchard Park, NY) hit safely in all four of her plate appearances in the win. Ashley Kovack (Ridgefield, CT) had two hits and two RBIs for the Dutchwomen, who had 15 hits in the game. Sophomore pitcher Ginny Sack (Burnt Hills, NY) got her 10th win of the season. She allowed seven hits and two runs while striking out one and not walking a batter. Sack now has 22 wins in her two year career.

Kaknis was three for three with three RBIs and the homer in the second game. Sack gave up nine hits in 4 2/3 innings, and stands 10-3 on the season.

Union opens Liberty League play with games at Skidmore Saturday at 1 p.m., then hosts Staten Island Sunday at 1 p.m.
