CLAREMONT, FL -- A thrilling day on the softball diamond led to two victories for Union College. During game one, the Dutchwomen mercy ruled eighth-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater, 8-0, in six innings. They followed with a 2-1 seventh-inning victory against Mount Vernon Nazarene.

The Dutchwomen unloaded 13 hits against Wisconsin-Whitewater with senior Megan Kaknis leading the way, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Junior pitcher Ginni Sack still has not allowed this season, pitching 21 shutout innings.

During the second outing, Union grabbed a 2-1 lead in the top of the seventh when senior Kaitlin Graham singled to score freshman Erika Hillenbrand

In the bottom half of the inning and with two outs, Graham gunned down a runner at the plate to end the game and improve Union's record to 7-1.

The Dutchwomen's spring break trip concludes on Friday, Mar. 27 with a 9:30 a.m. game against Lawrence and a 11:30 a.m. outing against Chicago.
