CLAREMONT, FL -- The Union College softball team wrapped up its spring break trip with wins against Lawrence, 5-2, and Chicago, 2-0. The Dutchwomen now sit with an 9-1 record thanks to two solid pitching efforts by juniors
Tiffany Ippoliti and
Ginni Sack. In game one, Ippoliti struck out five in seven innings and in game two, Sack whiffed nine in a complete game.
Senior
Megan Kaknis continued her dominance at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double, triple and three RBI in game one. Senior
Michelle Rogers went 2-for-3 during the first outing.
Sack, who pitched game two, has not allowed a run in her 29 innings of work this season. The Dutchwomen offense helped with seven hits and rusn in the third and fourth innings.
Union's home opener is on Wednesday, Apr.1 at 3:30 p.m. against Oneonta.
