MIDDLEBURY, VT -- Sophomore catcher
Nina Cervini went 3-for-4 with an RBI as the Union College softball team knocked off Middlebury, 10-6, during game two of the doubleheader. The Dutchwomen rebounded from a 1-0 loss in the first outing to move its record to 17-7. With the split the Panthers go to 16-9.

Ginni Sack earned the victory, throwing four innings before being replaced by classmate

The Dutchwomen took control of the game in the top of the second and Cervini led off that inning with a double down the leftfield line. Three batters later, senior leftfielder
Diana Polli singled to drive in Cervini and junior DP
Alexandra King scored on an error. Junior first baseman
Allie Sirrine doubled to move the score to 4-0 and junior right fielder
Becky Gronczniak followed with another two-bagger to score a run.
Cervini scored on a wild pitch in the third and Union only extended its lead in the fourth. Sophomore shortstop
Lauren Hoffman and junior second baseman
Callee Heywood both scored on a single by Senior third baseman
Ashley Kovack. Cervini followed with a single to score Kovack from second to make it 9-1.
After the Panther put up four runs in the fourth, the Dutchwomen produced their final run in the fifth on a wild pitch.
The Dutchwomen return home on Thursday, Apr. 22 with a 3:30 p.m. doubleheader against SUNY New Paltz.
