John Simpson was named MLX Skates ECAC Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. This marks the first time that Simpson has received ECAC weekly honors in his career.

On Friday night in a 4-0 win against Cornell, Simpson recorded two assists on the night, both in the third period. Simpson set up freshman forward
Kevin Sullivan's goal at 1:36 of the third period, and added an assist on freshman forward
Matt Hatch's empty net goal at 14:11.
Simpson has six goals and 14 assists on the season, matching his best scoring season at Union (four goals, 16 assists in 2009-10) with four games remaining in the regular season.
Union will embark on its final road trip of the regular season when it heads to the North Country to face Clarkson on Friday at 7:00 pm.
