Samantha Chevalier had three hits including a double and Alyssa Wolejko pitched a complete game victory to lead Union College to a 12-4 win in five innings over Grinnell College Wednesday. Earlier in the day, the Dutchwomen lost to Chicago, 12-7.

Alicia Jones and Wolejko had two hits each in the win over Grinnell, The Dutchwomen posted 10 hits in the triumph and had a five run second while scoring three in the third, and two more each in the furth and fifth frames. Wolejko struck out two.

Aniela Wendt had two hits for Grinnell while Jayme Wiebold had a pair of hits and an RBI.

In the opener, Chicago scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to break open a 6-6 tie. Starter Kim Cygan struck out four in four innings and Melissa Collins got the win in relief with four strikeouts in three innings. Kaitlyn Carpenter had two hits and two RBIs and Cygan had three hits with three RBIs and two runs scored for the Spartans.

Lauren Hoffman led the Dutchwomen with three hits, a steal and an RBI. Samantha Chevallier had two htis and a steal and Alyssa Wolejko drove in a run and finished with two hits.

Union is now 3-7 on the season, and is idle Thursday. The Dutchwomen return to action Friday when they wrap up their Florida week with games against Allegheny at 9:30 a.m. and Hope at 1:30 p.m.
