CLERMONT, FL -- The Union softball team lost to Bethel, 11-6 and Chicago, 6-0, in action at the National Training Center Tuesday afternoon.
In the opener,
Erika Hillenbrand had two hits and an RBI and Allyssa Wolejko drove in two runs.
Carson Mehl and
Amanda Blake had two hits each for the Dutchwomen. Wolejko took the defeat in four innings of work. Bethel posted 15 hits and score four runs in both the fourth and sixth innings en route to the victory.
Chicago won the nightcap featuring a three run homer by Raechel Cloud in the fifth inning, breaking open a 3-0 game. Kim Cygan allowed just one hit for Chicago in six innings, a
Nina Cervini double in the sixth inning.
Allyson Staats gave up 11 hits in a complete game.
The Dutchwomen are now 2-4 on the season that opened this week during the Florida trip. Union is idle Wednesday and returns to action Thursday for games against Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Wesleyan.
