Softball wraps up Florida schedue with win vs. Plymouth State

Allyson Staats struck out seven with a seven hitter to lead Union to a 4-2 softball win over Plymouth State in the second game of the final day for the Dutchwomen in Florida. Earlier in the day, Union lost to Bowdoin, 4-2.

In the victory, Nina Cervini had two RBIs in the first inning and Lindsay Cohen had an RBI double. Union had seven hits against the Panthers and finished the opening week of the season with a 5-5 record.

In the opener, Bowdoin scored three in the fifth en route to the win, and the Bears had nine hits. Alyssa Wolejko had a solo home run in the third.

Union plays at SUNY Oneonta on March 28 and opens the home season with an April 1 doubleheader against Staten Island.
