ONEONTA, NY -- Sarah Logan improved to 3-0 with a five hitter to lead Union to a 5-2 win over SUNY Oneonta in the softball nightcap at Red Dragon Field Wednesday. Earlier in the day, the Red Dragons (4-8) won 11-7. Union is now 6-6.
Logan walked just one and got 10 hits in support of the triumph.
Allyson Staats was 3 for 3 and also pitched the final two innings for the save, allowing just one hit. erika Hillenbrand had three RBIs and two hits in the win. kalyn Deso and Nicole Marzillo each had two hits for Oneonta, while Katie O'Flynn went the distance pitching for Oneonta.
Earlier in the day, the Red Dragons had 16 hits, including seven players with two hits each. Marzillo and Tricia kendziera had 3 RBIs each, and Kerry Leggett got her third win allowing six hits and striking four in six innings.
Alyssa Wolejko took the loss as the starter.
Nina Cervini and Wolejko had two hits each for the Dutchwomen.
Union will open the home season on Sunday vs. the College of Staten Island at 1 p.m.
