Union to join Rochester in Go4TheGoal Support

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College baseball team will join Liberty League member Rochester in their support of the Go4TheGoal Initiative by wearing gold laces for the remainder of the season.

The Dutchmen close out the season with a four-game home set against RIT on Saturday and Sunday and will be donning the gold laces in support of the Go4TheGoal Foundation.
"We are wearing gold shoe laces in support of cancer research", said Union baseball head coach Paul Mound. "We, along with several other Liberty League members, will wear them for the balance of the season and playoffs in support of this worthy cause."

The Go4theGoal Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit charitable organization founded in 2006 by Dr. Richard and Beth Stefanacci, soon after their oldest child was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.

Go4theGoal provides children undergoing cancer treatment and their families with financial assistance, runs fun hospital-based programs, grants special wishes and supplies state-of-the-art electronic products to children and pediatric oncology units in over 60 hospitals across the country.

To date, the Go4TheGoal Foundation has raised nearly $1,000,000 in funds to aid pediatric cancer research.
