#18 Dutchmen Take on #11 Michigan and New Hampshire in Weekend Series

SCHENECTADY, NY- The Union College men's ice hockey team continues its 2015-16 campaign against #11 Michigan and against New Hampshire on October 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m., respectively.  

SCOUTING MICHIGAN
Michigan comes to Messa Rink with a record of 2-0-0 and received votes in this week's USCHO.com Division I poll. Michigan opened the 2015-16 season against Mercyhurst with 6-4 and 3-2 victories on Friday and Sunday night, respectively. Kyle Connor leads the Wolverines with three goals, and an assist. Connor is followed by Justin Selman with three assists. Goaltenders Zach Nagelvoort and Steve Racine have made equal time in between the posts. Nagelvoort has a 2.01 goals-against-average with 19 saves, while Racine 26 saves with a 4.00 goals-against-average. 

SERIES AGAINST THE WOLVERINES
Union leads the series with Michigan, 1-0, but the two teams have only met once. In 2011, the teams met in Michigan where the Dutchmen won 6-3. Jeremy Walsh had two goals and Daniel Carr had a goal and an assist. Troy Grosenick made 33 saves including 11 in the first period. 

SCOUTING NEW HAMPSHIRE
New Hampshire enters the weekend with a 1-2 record. Before heading to Messa Rink, the team will face the University of Massachusetts. Senior forward, Maxim Gaudreault leads the team with three goals and an assist, while junior Tyler Kelleher has two goals and two assists and  Andrew Poturalski has one goal and three assists. In between the posts, Danny Tirone has started all three games, spending 181:45 in net and has a 3.30 goals-against average. 

SERIES AGAINST THE WILDCATS
New Hampshire leads the series in Division I play 4-3, but Union has won the last three meetings all by a score of 3-1. This is only the third time the Wildcats have made a trip to Mesa Rink. Last season on Oct. 11, Sam Coatta, Sebastian Gingras and Mike Vecchione scored for the Dutchmen. Colin Stevens made 33 saves for the game.
