SCHENECTADY, N.Y.-The Union College men's ice hockey team goes on the road this weekend to take on ECAC Hockey foes #11/12 Yale and Brown. The Dutchmen play the Bulldogs at 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 29 before squaring off with the Bears at 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 30.
LAST TIME OUT //Union closed out non-conference play against then #16 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), falling 5-2 in the fourth annual Capital District Mayor's Cup. The teams were tied 2-2 after the first, but the Engineers kept the Dutchmen off the scoresheet over the final two frames and added three more goals, en route to the 5-2 victory.
Eli Lichtenwald scored his first goal since the Dutchmen's 4-0 win against then #13 Merrimack on Nov. 28 and
J.C. Brassard produced his first multi-point game of the season with a pair of assists. In goal,
Alex Sakellaropoulos made 27 saves on 31 shots. Union fell to 1-6 in its last seven against RPI with the loss.
SERIES vs. YALE //Yale owns a 25-22-4 series advantage against Union in the Dutchmen's Division I era. Union has lost its last two games against the Bulldogs after going unbeaten in the seven prior meetings (6-0-1). The Dutchmen are 3-0-1 in their last four games at Yale.

Union 1, Yale 2 (OT)Andrew Gaus scored four minutes into overtime to give Yale a 2-1 win in the first meeting between the two teams. The Bulldogs held the Dutchmen to a season-low 20 shots.
Brett Supinski scored Union's lone goal and
Alex Sakellaropoulos turned away 29 of 31 shots.
SERIES VS. BROWN //Union is 16-23-1 against Brown in its Division I era. The Bears have won the last two meetings between the two teams, but the Dutchmen are 5-2 in the last seven meetings. The teams split the season series last year, each notching a win on the road. Union rolled to a 7-1 victory in its last game at Brown on Dec. 5, 2014.

Union 2, Brown 3 (ot)Max Willman scored with 28 seconds remaining in overtime to lift Brown to a 3-2 road win against the Dutchmen. The loss was Union's second-straight overtime defeat. Union carried 2-1 lead late into the third period with goals from
Michael Pontarelli and
Ryan Scarfo, but the Bears managed to tie the game with 1:38 remaining in regulation before securing the win in the extra frame. In goal, Brown netminder Tim Ernst turned away 37 shots, including 14 in the first and second periods.
