2016 World Cup of Hockey Schedule
SCEHNECTADY, N.Y.—Former Union College men's hockey defenseman and current Philadelphia Flyer Shayne Gostisbehere has been named to Team North America for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, which will be played Sept. 17-Oct.1 at the Air Canada Center in Toronto, Ontario.
The 2016 World Cup of Hockey will mark the third time the competition has been played and the first time since 2004. Gostibehere becomes the first Dutchman to be named to a World Cup of Hockey roster.
A 2016 Calder Memorial Trophy finalist, Gostisbehere compiled 46 points on 17 goals and 29 assists in 64 games this season and set an NHL rookie defenseman record with a 15-game point streak.
