This Weekend
The Dutchmen return home to Messa Rink to host ECAC Hockey rivals Princeton and Quinnipiac this weekend, Nov. 10-11. Friday's contest against the Tigers is scheduled for a 7 p.m. (ET) start, while Saturday's game against the Bobcats will start at 7:30 p.m.

Noteworthy: The Dutchmen won their fifth-consecutive game with a 3-1 win over the Saints. Sebastian Vidmar scored on the power play, while Cole Maier and Zachary Emelifeonwu also added goals for Union en route to the win. Darion Hanson turned in 17 saves for his fifth win as well.

Power Play: Union 0-4, Clarkson 3-4
Noteworthy: The No. 13 Golden Knights scored all three goals on the power play to hand Union its first conference loss of the season, 3-2. After Clarkson held a 2-0 lead to start the third period, Union out-scored the Golden Knights in the third period, 2-1, behind goals from Anthony Rinaldi and Joseph Camplieto, but it wasn't enough to pull off the comeback. Darion Hanson made a career high 29 saves despite recording his first loss.

vs Princeton
Union has not lost to the Tigers in over seven years, and the Dutchmen own a 32-19-8 overall record against Princeton since the first meeting between the two teams in 1992. Most recently, Union hosted Princeton in the quarterfinals of the ECAC Hockey playoffs, March 10-11, 2017, in which the Dutchmen swept the Tigers using a 4-1 win on the first night and a 4-3 OT win on the second night. The last time Princeton beat Union was on March 15, 2009 in the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals. The last time Princeton won at Messa Rink was back on Nov. 15, 2008. 

Scouting the Tigers
Princeton enters the weekend with a 1-1-1 record and an 0-1-1 mark in conference play. The Tigers opened the season on Oct. 29 with a 4-2 win against Holy Cross. Last weekend, they skated with Colgate to a 0-0 tie on Nov. 3, before narrowly losing to Cornell, 5-4, on Nov. 4. 

The Tigers are led by junior forward Max Veronneau who has totaled two goals and two assists through three games to start the season. In net, freshman Ryan Ferland has started all three games for Princeton, recording a .929 save percentage and a 2.27 goals-against average.

vs Quinnipiac
Quinnipiac enters Saturday's contest with a 18-14-4 overall record against Union, and has claimed six of the past 10 meetings against the Dutchmen. However, the Dutchmen swept Quinnipiac last season, beating the then-No. 5 Bobcats at their home rink, 4-2, on Nov. 29, 2016, before beating Quinnipiac, 4-1, in Schenectady on Feb, 17, 2017. 

Scouting the Bobcats
Quinnipiac enters the weekend ranked as the No. 16 team in this week's USCHO.com poll, with a 3-3-1 record and an 0-2-0 mark in conference play. Quinnipiac's three wins have come against Vermont, Oct. 14, and a sweep of Northeastern, Oct. 20-21. Last weekend, the Bobcats loss to both Cornell, 2-1, and Colgate, 4-1, to open ECAC Hockey play. 

The Bobcats are led by freshman forward Odeen Tufto who has eight points off of three goals and five assists. Quinnipiac has split time in net between sophomore Andrew Shortridge and freshman Keith Petruzzelli.

Current Streaks
Three Union skaters enter the weekend having recorded a point in at least the previous two games: Brett Supinski (4 games - 1g, 5a); Anthony Rinaldi (4 games - 3g, 2a); and Vas Kolias (2 games - 0g, 2a). Supinski has also recorded a point in all but two games so far this season. 

Spreading the Wealth
A total of 18 skaters have already recorded a point for Union this season, including 16 who have more than one, and 14 who have scored goals. 

Junior Leadership
Union is currently fifth in the country for junior class scoring. All six junior skaters have recored at least two goals this season. Brett Supinski leads the class, and the team, with five goals and seven assists. 

Fashionably Late
The Dutchmen are tied for first in the nation for third-period goal scoring. Through 11 games, Union has scored a total of 16 goals in the final period. 

Extra Goals
Forward Brett Supinski leads the nation in extra-attacker goals. The junior from Collegeville, PA scored with an empty Union net in back-to-back games, Oct. 13-15. Both of his extra-attacker goals were scored within the final 15 seconds of regulation.

Winning
With a 5-1 win over Niagara on Oct. 20, 2017, head coach Rick Bennett became the winningest hockey coach in Union hockey's Division I history. Bennett owns a career record of 142-75-30, surpassing Nate Leaman's record of 138-127-35. 

Best of the Week
With five-point weekend over Oct. 20-21, Ryan Scarfo led all ECAC Hockey skaters in scoring, and earned Player of the Week honors for his efforts. In the first outing of the weekend, Scarfo put up two assists against RIT in a 6-1 win. Against Niagara, Scarfo scored twice, including the game-winner, and added an assist for a career-tying best three-point night. The weekly honor was the first for the Dutchmen this season.

What a Debut
First-year goaltender Darion Hanson made his collegiate debut on Oct. 20 against RIT. Hanson made 24 saves in the 6-1 win, including 14 in the third period, seven of which were made while shorthanded. He followed up his debut with second win, helping Union defeat Niagara 5-1, with the only goal conceded coming on a Purple Eagles' power play.

Apple-trick
Junior captain Cole Maier set a personal best on Oct. 21 at Niagara, recording three assists against the Purple Eagles. He registered an assist on the game-winner, and had an assist in each of the three periods.
