This Weekend
The Dutchmen kick off the 2017-18 season with an early single game against Boston University this Saturday night. The game at Agganis Arena will begin at 7:30 p.m. (ET).
Saturday's game between Union and BU will be one of only three NCAA contests played over the opening weekend. The other two contests include Niagara at Colgate on Saturday, and Michigan Tech at Wisconsin on Sunday.

Noteworthy:
Spencer Foo scored two goals, producing his 20th multi-point game. After 11 scoreless minutes to open the game, the two teams combined for four goals in 2:45. The first period ended tied 2-2 and after Penn State took a 3-2 lead in the opening two minutes of the second period,
Spencer Foo scored his second of the game to tie things back up at 3-3. Unfortunately, Penn State would go on to score seven-unanswered goals to secure a spot in the regional final against eventual national champion Denver.
vs Boston University
The Dutchmen are 1-1-1 against the Terriers all-time, as the two sides have only met three times previously, most recently in January of 2017 which resulted in a 5-4 overtime win by Boston University.
Brett Supinski and
Sebastian Vidmar both lead the Dutchmen with one goal and two assists each in their careers against Boston University. In last season's 5-4 loss to BU, Vidmar, Supinski and
Luc Brown each recorded a two-point night with one goal and one assist each.
None of Union's three goaltenders have played against Boston University.
The Dutchmen's lone win against BU came in the series' second meeting on Oct. 10, 2015 at Messa Rink.
Ryan Scarfo scored the opening goal of the contest, as Union went on to win 5-3 in front of a sold-out crowd.
The first meeting took place in Boston on Jan. 3, 2015 and ended in a 3-3 tie.
Scouting Boston University
The Terriers lose 42-percent of their offense from last season, most notably in the losses of Clayton Keller and Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson, who combined for 78 points. BU's top returning forwards include Patrick Harper, Bobo Carpenter and Jordan Greenway. The Terriers also return Hockey East All-Rookie goaltender Jake Oettinger.
Boston University adds 10 new players in nine true freshman and one graduate transfer from RPI, Drew Melanson. BU's freshman class includes five 2017 NHL Draft picks.

Bennett was tabbed as ECAC Hockey Coach of the Year for the second time in his career (2011-12) after guiding the Dutchmen to a share of their fourth Cleary Cup title with a conference record of 16-4-2 in 2016-17.
