Career Firsts
Nine of the 10 first-year skaters have recorded their first collegiate points, with six of them doing so in the first weekend of competition. Gabriel Seger leads the freshman class in scoring, with 12 points, stemming from three goals and nine assists.

vs Yale
Yale and Union have an unusual all-time record, in that neither team has a winning record against the other on home ice. In games at Messa Rink, Union trails Yale, 12-17-2, while in games played at Ingalls Rink, Union leads Yale, 14-11-3. The peculiar trend manifested itself last month when Yale defeated Union 2-0 at Messa Rink on Dec. 7.

The win last month gave the Bulldogs the slight advantage in the all-time series with the Dutchmen, as Union now trails 27-28-6. However, Union has a slight advantage in recent games, having posted a 5-4-1 record against the Bulldogs in the past 10 meetings.

Scouting the Bulldogs
Yale is coming off a 7-0 loss to Harvard last weekend in a game played at Madison Square Garden. Prior to that, Yale had won four of their last five games, which includes the weekend sweep at RPI and Union, during Dec. 6-7. Yale holds a 6-9-0 overall record and sits just below Union in the ECAC Hockey standings with a 4-6-0 record in league play.

Boston Bruins draft pick in sophomore forward Curtis Hall leads the Bulldogs in scoring this season, with eight goals and one assist. Senior Corbin Kaczperski has played the majority of time in net for the Bulldogs, posting a 5-7-0 record with a 3.29 goals-against average and a .888 save percentage. However, since the start of December, Kaczperski has gone 4-2-0 with a .925 save percentage and a 2.33 goals-against average.

vs Brown
Union trails in the all-time series with the Bears, 21-25-13. However, Union holds a 5-3-2 record against Brown in the past 10 meetings. Last month, the two teams met at Messa Rink and Union went on to record its second shutout of the season, winning 5-0.

In games played at Meehan Auditorium, Union trails to Brown, 9-11-8. The last win for the Dutchmen in Providence came on Jan. 20, 2018.

Scouting the Bears
Brown enters the weekend hosting RPI with an overall record of 3-14-0. The Bears sit in 10th place in the ECAC Hockey rankings with a record of 3-7-0. Brown is currently on a nine-game losing streak that spans back to Nov. 26 and includes two overtime losses, one to Boston University on Jan. 8, and one last weekend against Arizona State.

Sophomore forward Justin Jallen leads the Bears in scoring with eight goals and two assists on the season. In net, senior Gavin Nieto has seen the majority of time. So far this year he has a 2-11-0 record with a .903 save percentage and a 2.94 goals-against average.

Doing it the Hard Way
Freshman forward Christian Sanda was one of five players to score a shorthanded goal during the opening weekend of play, Oct. 5-6. His shorthanded goal came during the second period at Army West Point on Oct. 6.

Last Time Out
The Dutchmen hosted Colgate and No. 2 Cornell last weekend at Messa Rink. Union dropped a tough match against Colgate, 3-2, to open the weekend. However, the Dutchmen rebounded and skated to a 3-3 tie with the nationally-ranked Big Red.

Dylan Anhorn scored his third goal of the season, while the two team leaders in points, Anthony Rinaldi and Gabriel Seger assisted on the goal. Union out-shot Colgate, 6-4, in the first period.
