ITHACA, N.Y. – The Union College women's and men's swimming and diving teams will compete this week in the Liberty League Swimming & Diving Championships, held on the campus of Ithaca College, from February 19-22 at Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium.
On the women's side, senior Kerry Kelly is the only Union swimmer looking to defend titles from last year's conference meet, as the two-time Liberty League Swimmer of the Year will look to reclaim her titles in the 200 individual medley, 400 individual medley and 200 butterfly. In her first three seasons, the three-time All-American has earned five conference titles and six individual All-Conference honors. In addition, classmate Emily Quinn has earned a pair of All-Conference honors in the 200 breaststroke, taking second place last season after earning the title as a sophomore.
On the men's side, sophomore Zachary Cormier will look to improve on his second-place finish in the 400 individual medley last season, while senior Owen Perks will look to regain his crown in the 200 backstroke, which he captured as a sophomore in 2018. Fellow senior Seif Refaat is the lone Dutchman with multiple All-Conference honors to his credit, after a third-place finish in the 200 individual medley last year and a second-place result in the 200 butterfly as a sophomore.
The Dutchwomen placed fifth out of 9 teams a year ago, while the Dutchmen finished in fourth place out of nine teams last season.
Tickets will be sold for finals sections only, and cost $15 for a single-session pass, or half price for children 12 and under.
