ITHACA, N.Y. – The Union College women's swimming & diving team tallied seven lifetime-best swims between preliminary and finals events on Wednesday during Day 1 of the 2026 Liberty League Swimming & Diving Championships hosted by Ithaca College at Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium and are in sixth place with 92 points.
Union is 11 points ahead of seventh-place Clarkson University while Ithaca paces all 10 teams with 386 points.
Juniors
Chloe Matthews and
Jess Konsky led the way for the Garnet Chargers, earning spots in the B-finals of the 200 individual medley. Matthews earned a lifetime-best in prelims and doubled down with another LB in 2:14.56 in the B-final. She placed second in her heat and 10th overall. Konsky placed 14th (2:17.58).
First-year
Julia Garber also recorded a lifetime-best in the 200 IM. She went 2:20.38 in prelims, missing a LB by 2.09 seconds but then shaved 4.2 seconds off her time in the evening session, winning the C-final and placing 17th overall.
In the 400 medley relay, Konsky led off Union's A-relay along with Garber, junior
Samantha Picciotti, and Matthews. Those four Garnet Chargers teamed up to finish in sixth place (4:09.75).
In prelims, senior
Alison Silver and Picciotti recorded lifetime-bests in the 200 IM with times of 2:23.89 and 2:23.12, respectively. First-year
Maggie Reale, first-year
Mya Schattin, junior
Sarah Ramirez competed in the 50 freestyle. Ramirez earned a lifetime-best in 26.34 during that event.
