CANTON, N.Y. – The Union College women's golf team took fifth place at the season-opening St. Lawrence Invitational this weekend, carding a 382 on day two to finish the weekend at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course.
Following up with yesterday's 384, Union ended the weekend with a two-day score of 766, 19 strokes back of host St. Lawrence in fourth place. Ithaca College took top honors with a two-day score of 652, 17 strokes ahead of runner-up SUNY Cortland.

Liz Bentsianov was Union's top scorer on the weekend, carding an 84 on Sunday to finish the two-day event in a tie for sixth place at 167. Sophomore
Shea White finished up two strokes back in a tie for eighth place, finishing with an 88 to end up at 169.

Katerina Dimacopoulos shot a 99 on Sunday to finish the weekend in a tie for 25th place (201), while sophomore
Delaney Fox ended the weekend at 229 following a career-best round of 111 on day two.
Union will continue its abbreviated fall schedule on September 23 with a dual match against William Smith College in Utica, N.Y.
