POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Union College women's golf team took fifth place with a team score of 364 at the Vassar College Invitational, held on Saturday at the par-72 Casperkill Country Club.
Union posted its lowest round of the season in the first full-squad event of the spring, finishing four shots clear of St. Lawrence University in sixth position. Wellesley College carded a two-over round of 290 to post a 17-stroke victory over runner-up Wesleyan University.
Junior
Liz Bentsianov led the Garnet Chargers with a round of 82, placing 16th in the 35-golfer field. Sophomore
Shea White finished in a tie for 22nd place after carding an 88, and classmate
Delaney Fox also carded a career-best round of 96, a 16-stroke improvement over her previous career-best round. Junior
Katerina Dimacopoulos rounded out the Union quartet with a 98.
Union will return to action on April 13-14 at the Cortland Martin/Wallace Invitational.
