SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Four members of the Union College women's swimming & diving team were recognized for their performance in the pool and in the classroom this season with spots on the 2023-24 Academic All-District Swimming & Diving Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators and announced on Tuesday.
To be nominated for College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must participate in at least four competitions or finish top-eight in an event at the conference championships, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and reach sophomore athletic and academic standing at the school. All Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, the results of which will be announced in late April.
The women's team had the maximum four players recognized, led by junior
Meghan Seidberg, who earned the honor for the second straight season. In addition, fellow juniors
Gabi Acosta and
Aurelie Truquet as well as sophomore
Sasha Malik all were named Academic All-District for the first time in their careers.
With the men's and women's swimming & diving team's combined eight honorees this year, Union student-athletes have now earned 191 Academic All-District honors since 2001.
