BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Union College women's cross country team took 11th place in the College Green 6K race as part of Friday's annual Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University and presented by ASICS at the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course.
The Garnet Chargers finished up the day by coming just short of the top 10 in the 34-team field, earning 339 points to finish behind York College of Pennsylvania in 10th and five points clear of Arcadia University in 12th. Division II Clarion University took first place with 133 points, with five Division II teams among the 10 finishing ahead of Union.
Junior
Annabel Dobash was the first Garnet Charger to cross the finish line, traversing the 6K course in 23:29.1 to place 15th out of 286 runners. Sophomore
Kyleigh Record also earned a top-25 finish, ending up 24th with a time of 23:48.5.
First-year
Kate Monaco came less than two seconds away from a spot in the top-50, taking 52nd in 24:31.4, while classmate
Eilis McKenna finished in 26:09.6 and junior
Devon Hardy ended her run in 26:11.5 to round out Union's scoring five.
After taking next weekend off, Union will be back on the course on October 18 at the Connecticut College Invitational.
