ITHACA, N.Y. – The Union College men's swimming & diving team placed fifth in the 14th Annual Bomber Invitational hosted by Ithaca College at the Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium, concluding the three-day, six-team meet with 936 points. 

The Garnet Chargers more than doubled their point total from last season at Ithaca's midseason meet and had three swimmers in A-finals Saturday night.

First-year Troy Luley led the way with a second-place finish in the 200 breaststroke. He already held the sixth-fastest 200-breast time in program history before the meet, and his 2:06.71 on Saturday moved him into fifth.

Sophomore Nick Megas touched the wall in 46.66 and third place in the 100 freestyle, and first-year Lucas Miller placed seventh in the 200 butterfly (1:59.82) to round out Union's A-finalists. 

In the B-final of the 200 backstroke, senior Josh Hiller placed 13th (2:05.51), and sophomore Myles Gronbach placed 17th (2:27.80).

Four other Garnet Chargers raced in the 100 free along with Megas. Senior Drew Hill posted a 48.81 time in 14th, and first-year Tripp Kennedy placed 15th (48.98). First-years Emlen Lease and Nathan Lowney placed 22nd and 23rd, respectively, in the C-final.

Sophomore Brayden Green placed 12th in the 200 breast (2:18.26), while sophomore Crosby Grim placed 17th (2:22.14), and first-year Chase Reynolds placed 20th (2:25.71) in the same event. 

In the final event of the meet, Kennedy, junior Gavin Baltes, Hill, and Miller teamed up for a fifth-place finish (3:19.69) in the 400 freestyle relay. 

The Garnet Chargers kick off 2026 with a dual meet against Amherst on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 1 p.m. in Massachusetts.
