Women's Swimming & Diving Wraps Up 2025 Schedule

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Union College women's swimming & diving team placed fifth in the 14th Annual Bomber Invitational hosted by Ithaca College at the Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium, concluding the three-day, seven-team meet with 737.5 points.

Union improved upon its 2024 team score at Ithaca's midseason meet by 181.5 points, and wrapped up the 2025 meet with 10 swimmers in finals events Saturday night.

First-year Ali Sweeney posted a 2:36.49 in the A-final of the 200 breaststroke and came in seventh. Joining Sweeney in the 200 breast, sophomore Kathlyn Pomeroy finished ninth (2:37.61), and sophomore Maddie Stanley placed 15th (2:41.95).

Three Garnet Chargers competed in the 200 backstroke, with junior Jess Konsky in 11th (2:14.67), junior Amelia Dino in 17th (2:17.03), and first-year Charlotte Auth in 19th (2:20.70).

Junior Chloe Matthews earned a 13th-place finish with a 54.65 in the 100 freestyle, and first-year Maggie Reale came in 23rd in the same event (57.01).

Junior Samantha Picciotti and first-year Lucia Lazarus wrapped up Union's individual events with times of 2:16.88 and 2:23.21, respectively.

In the final event of the three-day meet, Matthews, first-year Julia Garber, senior Alison Silver, and Reale placed fifth in the 400 freestyle relay, posting a time of 2:45.32.

The Garnet Chargers kick off 2026 with a dual meet against Amherst on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 1 p.m. in Massachusetts.
