ITHACA, N.Y. – The Union College women's indoor track & field team had two entries compete on the first day of the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championships, held at Ithaca College's Glazer Arena on Friday afternoon.
The team picked up four points on day one of the two-day championships to sit in a tie for 19th place, with several more scoring opportunities coming tomorrow.
Union started the day by taking fifth place in the distance medley relay, finishing in 12:23.06. First-year
Kyleigh Record started off with a 3:50.42 in the opening 1200 meters, followed by senior
Gabby Baker running her 400 meters in 1:01.40 to remain in seventh place. First-year
Bethel Flanagan moved the team one spot up the leaderboard with a time of 2:24.93 in the 800 meters, and senior
Cat Dacey bumped the team up one more spot with a 5:06.32 mile to close out the relay.
Sophomore
Ashley Sheldon also took part in the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles on Friday's first day, crossing the line in 9.68 seconds to place 24th overall, just ahead of her 25th-place seeding.
All five individuals as well as sophomore
Annabel Dobash will be back for tomorrow's second day of the AARTFC Championships, beginning with Sheldon in the high jump at 10:30 a.m.
