SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Four members of the Union College women's swimming & diving team were recognized for success in the pool and excellence in the classroom with a spot on the 2024-25 Women's Swimming & Diving Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators and announced last Tuesday.
To be nominated for College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must compete in at least five competitions or finish in the top-eight at the conference championship, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and reach sophomore athletic and academic standing at the school. All Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, the results of which will be announced in late April.
The women's team had the maximum four players recognized, led by senior
Meghan Seidberg, who was recognized for the third straight year. Fellow seniors
Gabi Acosta and
Aurelie Truquet were honored for the second straight season, while sophomore
Grace Furtado picked up the honor for the first time in her career.
With his honor, Union student-athletes have now earned 242 Academic All-District honors since 2001.
