POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Union College women's cross country team kicked off the 2025 season by placing third at the Vassar College Season Starter, held on Friday evening at Vassar Farm.
Union ended the event with 70 points, 44 points ahead of SUNY New Paltz in fourth place. #4 New York University took top honors with 30 points, just ahead of #16 Vassar (31 points).
Junior
Annabel Dobash was the first Union runner to cross the finish line on the evening, placing ninth in the 62-runner field in 11:07.8. Sophomore
Kyleigh Record finished right behind her in ninth place, completing the 3K course in 11:10.3.
First-year
Kate Monaco completed her first collegiate race in 11:26.5 to place 17th overall. Two classmates also scored for Union in their collegiate debuts as well, with first-year
Eilis McKenna taking 24th in 11:40.7 and classmate
Josephine Withbroe finishing 28th with a time of 11:46.0.
Union will be back at Vassar Farm in two weeks, taking part in Vassar's Ron Stonitsch Invitational on September 13.
