Box Score SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College men's tennis team finished off play at the Garnet Charger Invitational on Sunday, posting several top-four finishes at the Union Tennis Courts.
First-year
Reilly Fowles was Union's only singles player alive in a main draw on Sunday, but the rookie fell to Trinity's Thompson Brown in the "E" Singles semifinals by an 8-4 score.
Junior
Shreyas Kode took third place in the "C" Singles bracket, coming back from a loss in yesterday's semifinal for an 8-7 (7-4) win over St. Lawrence's Charles Schepens.
First-year
Simon Philip earned a pair of wins to go through the "B" Singles consolation bracket, beating Drew's Daniel Arcari by an 8-6 score and SLU's Jake David, 8-4. Sophomore
Vivaan Gupta and senior
Christian Crowder both dropped their fifth-place matches in the "C" and "E" consolation brackets, respectively.

Daniel Saxe took third in the "B" doubles bracket, besting SLU's Preston Mcarthy and Rowan Bepler by an 8-6 score, while Fowles and classmate
Alain Uzelac took fifth in the bracket by knocking off teammates Kode and sophomore
Riichi Nagatake by the same score.
Union will remain at home next Saturday, when the team hosts the Garnet Cup. The Garnet Chargers host Manhattanville University in their opening match at 9 a.m. and will face either the University of Hartford or SUNY Oneonta in the afternoon.
